What I Keep
I can honor what I was taught
and still choose what I believe.
Insight
I have inherited more than memories and stories. I have inherited beliefs, expectations, and ways of understanding how life is supposed to be lived.
Some of what I was taught has become part of me because experience has shown me its value. Other lessons no longer fit who I am or what I have come to understand.
I am learning that questioning what I was taught does not mean dismissing where I came from. I can appreciate the wisdom I received while deciding for myself what still feels true.
Perhaps growing into my own beliefs is not about leaving the past behind. It is about choosing, with intention, what I keep.
Reflection
What have you been taught that you now choose to keep—and what are you ready to reconsider?
