Norma looks down thoughtfully at a loose chain she holds in one hand, while the other end circles her wrist. Against a black background, her red shirt and white hands emphasize the moment she recognizes her own participation in holding on.

The Chain I Hold

I thought it was holding me.
Then I noticed my hand.

Insight

I am beginning to recognize that some of the things I experience as limitations are patterns I have continued to hold. What once felt necessary may no longer serve me. I don’t need to struggle against the chain or judge myself for holding it. Awareness allows me to see my own participation and recognize that I may have more freedom than I thought.

Reflection

What am I continuing to hold because I have forgotten that I can let go?
